Last Meeting  Abstract Photography, Photographic Thinking - An Introduction: 7.30pm, Wednesday February 26, 2020

Robert Dettman gave an informative and inspiring presentation on Abstract Photography, displaying lots of examples, including many of his own work.  He explained the concept of visualising the image you want to achieve and tips on how to achieve it, from taking the photograph to manipulating the image using post-processing methods to get the result you want.  Robert uses his background in architecture to create images from accurate pictorial records of building and architectural features through to abstractions inspired by those subjects.

The second part of the evening saw members splitting into small groups and critiquing well known art and photographic works as the first step in our program of "photographic thinking".
